COME TO THE TABLE
Helen Durant
September 29th - November 2nd, 2025
Opening night October 2nd at 6pm.
I live in a small town at the base of Mount Noorat, an extinct volcano. While much of my work is inspired by the surrounding landscape, this body of work emerges from my interest in shadows and how they can transform the familiar into something unexpected. When we look at shadows, everyday objects can appear strange or unfamiliar. Stripped of detail and colour, their shapes become more pronounced, and a collection of items can merge into a single form.

INTERTIDAL
Vicki Reynolds
August 25th - September 28th, 2025
Opening night August 28th at 6pm.
Vicki Reynolds is an artist who chooses the medium for the desired outcome, working across sculpture, photography, installation, drawing, printmaking and painting. Concepts are focussed on the environment. In a process called 'gyotaku', locally caught fish were painted with squid ink and then pressed with Japanese handmade paper, adding hand colour after the ink was dry. Painting/ drawing works are done at the waters’ edge of the ocean, estuary and lakes.

The current body of work by well-known and much-loved Warrnambool artist, Rachel Peters, began with a view of the Hopkins River. Seen from local Gunditjmara elder Banjo Clarke’s grave-site, Peters reflects on her thoughts during the encounter: “Through branches of spring wattle, the ancient water course glides over basalt rocks, as a reminder that life keeps going despite all the ups and downs, hopes and despairs.”
