ARTIST CALLOUT "SUMMER HAVEN"

Calling all artists!  We're seeking vibrant, thoughtful, and inspiring works for "Summer Haven", our annual community exhibition celebrating the warmth, creativity, and coastal charm of  Port Fairy. "Summer Haven" invites artists to reflect on themes of rest, joy, nature, coastal living, and the emotional landscapes of summer. All mediums welcome – ceramics, textiles, painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media and more. Submissions open online in July and close 16th November.Let Port Fairy’s coastal breeze and artistic energy inspire your work. We can’t wait to see what you create!

TERMS and CONDITIONS for ENTRY

Venue: “Glyph Gallery and Creative Space”, 38 Bank St, Port Fairy, 3284

Date: Installation on Monday 1st December 2025

Opening night: Thurs 4th December 6pm

 

1. Eligibility

  • Participation is open to all artists who complete the entry form on the Glyph Gallery website and pay the entry fee. ($15 per entry for members and $30 per entry for non-members)

  • All artwork submitted must be original, uncopied and created by the artist.

  • 2D and 3D art in any medium is welcome, although we cannot accommodate video installations at this time.

  • A maximum number of three entries per artist is permitted.

 

2. Submission Guidelines

  • An entry may not necessarily be displayed. The SW Makers Association reserves the right, at any stage of the Exhibition, to hang or withdraw any work. Our entry fee is for handling and so is not refundable.

  • 2D artworks shall be suitably framed ready for hanging. Stretched canvas is considered suitable framing, provided it has adequate cross members. 2D artworks must be fitted with substantial hanging wire with flush "D hooks" so that there are no protrusions that can damage other works in transit.

  • Groups of small works are to be entered as either individually and sold as such or as a collection and sold as a group. They cannot be entered both ways.

  • 3D pieces must be less than 800x800x800mm and 15kg, unless prior approval is granted. The installation of 3D works to be clearly described or an image provided by the artist.

 

3. Artwork Delivery and Collection

  • All artworks must be delivered to the gallery between Saturday 29th Nov and Sunday 30th Nov, during business hours (10am-4pm).

  • Entries must be delivered free of all charges. No payment whatsoever will be made by SW Makers Association for freight or other charges incurred in delivery or return of the entry

  • Each work must be clearly labelled with the artist name, the title of the work and sale price. Labels must be securely attached to the back or under side of the work.

  • All entries must be received in accordance with entry closing dates & times. Late entries may be accepted, but they may not be catalogued.

  • Artworks sold prior to Sunday 21st December may be collected on that day by the artist or the buyer. Artists may choose to submit another artwork to replace sold items.

  • Collection of unsold work must occur on Sunday 1st February, or by negotiation with the exhibition team. Glyph Gallery is not responsible for artworks left beyond this period.

 

4. Installation and Display

  • The exhibition team will be responsible for curating and installing the work.

  • Special display requirements must be communicated in advance and may be subject to approval.

 

5. Sales and Commission

  • All artworks entered for the exhibition shall be for sale.

  • The Sale Price shall include any applicable Goods & Services Tax (GST).

  • Glyph Gallery shall be entitled to retain 30% commission on all artwork sold during the exhibition.

  • Prices must be agreed upon before the exhibition opens and cannot be changed mid-show.

  • Payments for sold works will be processed within 14 days after the exhibition’s end.

 

6. Insurance and Liability

  • SW Makers Association will exercise all reasonable care in handling the works submitted, but will not be responsible for the loss of or any damage to any works while in their custody. It is strongly recommended that artists organise appropriate insurance for their works.

  • The gallery is not liable for any loss, theft, or damage to the artworks during transit, handling, or display.

 

7. Promotion and Publicity

  • By participating, artists grant Glyph Gallery the right to use images of their submitted work for promotional purposes with proper credit.

  • The gallery will promote the exhibition through its website, mailing list, and social media channels.

 

8. Withdrawal

  • Artists must notify the gallery at least 14 days in advance if they wish to withdraw their participation.

  • The gallery reserves the right to remove any work from the exhibition for any reason, including but not limited to issues of copyright infringement, inappropriate content, or safety concerns.

 

9. Agreement

  • Submission of entry form and artwork constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
