UPCYCLED CLOTH JACKET

Join Melbourne based textile artist Melanie Hill in this fun one-day workshop learning her technique in upcycling linen garments. You will cover and stitch them with vintage textile, doilies, orphaned quilt blocks, yo-yo’s etc…it a great was to give your preloved or scrap fabrics a new life.

Materials and equipment to bring to the workshop:

- Linen jacket, dress, shirt, dusk coat  etc that will be the basis of the jacket that you will make (you will stitch onto this)

- Needle and scissors -  sewing notions.

- Stranded cotton: a variety of colours that will coordinate or contrast with your fabrics

- Any items you wish to add to your jacket: this could be quilt blocks, a quilt that you are willing to cut up, collections of fabrics (large florals, Japanese blues, strips and spots etc), embroiders old doilies, etc, etc

- Any  embellishments to add to you garment.

Tea and Coffee is provided, please bring your own lunch or there are many option for takeways just down the street.

Cancellations to up until 6 weeks before the workshop – refund 80% of workshop fee paid. Cancellations after that date 50% refund.Glyph Gallery & Creative Space reserves the right to cancel a workshop if the minimum class enrolment is not reached 1 weeks before the workshop is due to commence. If a workshop is cancelled, participants will be offered a full refund
