PLEIN AIR OILS OR ACRYLICS with LANA DAUBERMANN

Join Lana for a weekend of plein air painting in beautiful Port Fairy. The weekend will be a mix of indoor studio work and outdoor onsite painting in locations nearby (weather dependant). We’ll explore ways of ’seeing’ and how different  ways of observing the world can inform our work. We’ll do short exercises designed to grow various painting ‘muscles’, with plenty of time to consolidate these ideas into your own work.

Lana will be painting in oils but all mediums welcome.

Bio: Lana Daubermann is a landscape and still life painter living near Melbourne’s Merri Creek - Mwlbourne. She has painted since she was a child, slowly sidestepping her way out of a career in advertising to becoming a full-time artist.

Lana primarily works in oils and enjoys the immersive qualities of paint and its endless possibilities in mark-making. Painting en plein air and direct from life is an important part of her practice as she explores the process of painting and drawing and the unique way it can connect us to the world. With a traditional background in tonalism, her attention over the years has shifted more towards intuition and colour.

Materials list:

In addition to the equipment on the materials list (you can choose to work in either oils or acrylics) below can you also please bring: your name tag, coffee mug and plastic to cover your table

Tea and Coffee is provided, please bring your own lunch or the are many options from local cafes just down the street.

Cancellations to up until 6 weeks before the workshop – refund 80% of workshop fee paid. Cancellations after that date 50% refund.Glyph Gallery & Creative Space reserves the right to cancel a workshop if the minimum class enrolment is not reached 1 weeks before the workshop is due to commence. If a workshop is cancelled, participants will be offered a full refund
