Learn how to work with your chosen design either using direct or non-direct method using mesh. Please bring your own design in an A4 or A3 size.

Then choose your colours, paying attention to the textures, shapes and how to manage negative and positive spaces in your design.

You will be shown how to cut and shape with tile nippers and how to achieve different effects using different shapes, sizes, textures and materials to create depth and interest in their works. 

On Sunday we grout and clean your mosaics.

All materials supplied. This includes: the cement sheet (that you glue the tiles to) the tiles, glue and grout etc as well as all equipment will all be supplied for the mosaics. If you are wishing to bring your own project to work on please contact us for more detail. info@swmakers.com.au

Bio: Jodie Mathews

"I have been making mosaics for over 15 years with community groups of all ages in the Wimmera. Most recently as an Artist in Residence at a local primary school, where there was great joy and pride from young people upon their exhibition. I hold a BA and post-grad in Visual Arts and I am in my final year of an Arts Therapy Masters. I advocate for the use of quality materials and tools. I believe that we all can tap into our creativity if we allow ourselves the opportunity to slow down and explore. I enjoy meeting new people and guiding them to successful outcomes with my engaging supportive nature."
