If you have always wanted to dye with organic indigo vats instead of synthetic indigo/chemical

vats, then this is the workshop for you. In this introductory workshop, we will explore preparing a

basic organic indigo vat and a mineral indigo vat to learn how to set one up at home and maintain

it for optimum results. The whole indigo process will be thoroughly explained and demystified, so

you will learn how to make your own vat confidently as well as how to store and revive it. We will also explore the many aspects of shibori in order to resist-dye with indigo, such as clamping (itajime), stitching (nui), pole-wrapping (arashi). You will see the beautiful indigo blue magically develop before your eyes to produce stunning blue and white fabrics. This workshop is suitable for beginners with no previous experience necessary.

This is a two day workshop, from 10am to 4:30pm on Saturday and continuing on Sunday at 10am to 4:30pm.
